# Maldric > Maldric is an online writing desk for indie fiction authors, especially authors working on a series. Keep the manuscript, characters and timeline together, review the author's draft, and export EPUB and print PDF files. Official public website: https://maldric.com/. Built and run by Chris Vanderplank at Intrepid Developer. Closed beta. Invitations are sent in small batches. Joining the waitlist requests an invitation; it does not create an account or guarantee immediate access. Invited authors get a 30-day trial starting at account creation, with 100 AI credits. Joining the waitlist is free and does not start a subscription. Paid subscriptions are chosen in Settings on the signed-in desk. The author writes the manuscript. Optional AI helps brainstorm, review and refine it. Chapter edits require the author's explicit approval. Maldric is not a novel generator and has no KDP or IngramSpark publish button. Authors check exported files and upload them themselves. Retailer acceptance and AI disclosure classification are not guaranteed. A series shares a bible of characters, places, lore and plot, plus a timeline across books. Standalone books have their own bible workspace. Full book review checks the manuscript against the bible and offers notes on continuity, pacing and prose. Import accepts Word (.docx), EPUB, PDF and markdown zip, with a chapter preview before creating a book. The desk runs in a web browser and needs an internet connection for sync and assistant work. It is not a native desktop application. Authors can download a local working copy of chapters, bible, images and About the author during the trial, after it ends, and after a paid plan is paused or cancelled. This copy is unwatermarked and separate from finished EPUB/PDF exports. Trial ebook exports are marked as trial copies. An ended or paused plan leaves a download-only desk; the library is not deleted. Paid plans (GBP, billed monthly; all include the same writing desk and clean EPUB/PDF exports): - Base: £4.99 per month; 1,000 AI credits per billing period. - Indie: £12.99 per month; 4,000 AI credits per billing period. - Pro: £24.99 per month; 10,000 AI credits per billing period. Optional AI work uses credits. Writing, saving, organising the bible and downloading work do not. A 1,000-credit pack costs £3.99 on any paid plan. Unused pack credits carry over when monthly plan credits refill. A long full-book review may need more than the trial allowance. The following pages contain the public product details and policies.
